'What Doesn't Kill You' Trailer

'The Italian Job' Ending Revealed

Michael Caine has revealed all about the ending of The Italian Job - solving a 40-year-old mystery that has baffled fans for decades.

Millions of fans have long debated the fate of Caine's character Charlie Croker, after he and his gang find themselves, and their getaway coach full of gold, teetering on a cliff edge.

The 1969 movie ended with Croker infamously saying, "Hang on a minute, lads. I've got a great idea" - before the credits rolled, leaving fans on tenderhooks as to what happened.

But Caine finally addressed the mystery when he spoke at the 2008 Visit London Awards on Thursday - where he was honoured with the London's Favourite Londoner Award.

He explained how a sequel explaining the ending had been devised - but was ditched at the last minute, leaving fans to think up their own conclusions.

He says, "In the coach I crawl up, switch on the engine, stay there for four hours until all the petrol runs out. The van bounces back up so we can all get out, but then the gold goes over.

"There are a load of Corsican Mafia at the bottom watching the whole thing with binoculars. They grab the gold, and then the sequel is us chasing it."

Danny Boyle Talks Trainspotting Sequel

Danny Boyle has revealed that a Trainspotting sequel will move forward once the original cast begin to look older.

The director explained that the storyline will take place two decades after the events of Trainspotting, when the characters "hit the wall" in middle age.

However, Boyle said that Hollywood vanity is slowing down the ageing process for stars Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlyle, Jonny Lee Miller, Ewen Bremner and Kevin McKidd.

He told The AV Club: "The problem is, they don't look any different at the moment from when Trainspotting was made. They look exactly the same. They're a little heavier, but they basically look the same.

"Actors stay suspended in that timeless moment where they're moisturising and looking after themselves and making sure they keep fit and healthy, because it's their work, it's their future employment. But when time ravages them, we will be waiting for them."

Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh wrote a sequel to the novel called Porno, which follows the same characters working in the pornography industry.

US Acting Union To Hold Strike Ballot

The main Hollywood acting union is preparing to ballot its members after the failure of the latest talks aimed at ending a 5-month deadlock over a new TV/theatrical contract.

Reuters reports that the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) have begun to prepare to ballot members after two-days of mediated talks with the studios organisation the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers, ended without agreement late on Saturday night.

SAG said: "We will now launch a full-scale education campaign in support of a strike-authorization referendum. We will further inform our members about the core, critical issues unique to actors that remain in dispute."

The AMPTP responded by saying: "SAG is bizarrely asking its members to bail out the failed negotiating strategy with a strike vote - at a time of historic economic crisis. The tone deafness of SAG is stunning."

The AMPTP also sent a strongly worded message to its 300 members.

It said: "The more SAG members understand about the fairness and strength of our offer, especially during a time of historic economic distress, the less likely they will be to authorize a strike."

SAG would require 75% of its voting members to approve a strike.

Bedhead is a short film made in 1991 directed and co-written by Robert Rodriguez.

Made while he was a student at the University of Texas at Austin, Rodriguez shot the film with his brothers and sisters as actors and with his family and friends as crew.

The film was shot on black and white 16 mm film. It was then transferred to 3/4" videotape. Because he did not have the equipment to shoot sync sound the only dialogue is the voice over narration, because it does not have to be synched to anyone's lip movements.

The short film was then entered into several competitive film festivals, where it won cash prizes, money that Rodriguez then used to produce his first feature film, El Mariachi.

The Riches To Continue On The Big Screen

FX announced last month that the con-artist drama would not be returning for a third season.

Izzard said writers are currently working on a script for the film, which will be funded independently.

"We've had the meeting and the writers are going to go off and slam out a story," he said. "We're going to raise money like Barack Obama through the internet, and we're going to shoot it guerilla-style.

"Everything's getting tight, money's getting tight and there's the credit crunch - so it's the time to go out and be inventive."

"We'll shoot it guerilla-style using gorillas to to actually shoot it. We're going to give them cameras... No, we're going to just get in there and maybe not have permission to do things, but just film it."
