Disney and Robert Zemeckis have been in
negotiations to direct a remake/sequel of The Beatles animated classic 'Yellow Submarine'. The studio has been brokering a complicated rights deal with Apple & Parlophone to obtain rights to 16 Beatles songs for the project which Zemeckis will direct in the performance-capture 3-D digital production he used for 'A Christmas Carol'.
Yellow Submarine is set to be released in 2012.
