'Zonad' is an upcoming film by 'Once' director John Carney, who also co-wrote the film with his brother Kieran. The film stars Simon Delaney, David Pearse, Rory Keenan and Geoff Minogue and is due for release in Ireland, 17 March 2010.
Zonad is the story about an escaped convict who fools a whole Irish village into thinking he's a visitor from outer space. Zonad, a strange visitor comes to the town of Ballymoran, is taken in by the Cassiday family and accepted by the locals as an extraterrestrial.
This is a feature-length version of a short film of the same name, written by the Carney brothers while still in college, which starred Cillian Murphy.
