'Kick-Ass 2' Details

During an interview Mark Millar dropped some hints on what we can expect to see in the sequel to 'Kick-Ass,' 'Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall.'
I am writing the comic book right now. Matthew Vaughn is directing X-Men: First Class, which he will be doing until about April. I will have finished writing the new comic by Christmas. Then, in April, we will begin working on Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall..

The film and the comic book are very closely tied together. There are only a few minor changes towards the end. It does led directly into a sequel, and I am writing the sequel as I always planned it to be. The actors may be a little bit older, or bigger. They can address that in the movie. But I am not changing anything for the comic book. We left things off with her being adopted by this extremely nice man. He is a cop. And she has to stop killing people, you know? That seems like an interesting starting point in the next one in regards to her character. She is going to be like Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven, where she hasn't picked up a gun in years. It's that type of thing. I like the idea of doing that with an eleven year old girl. She was part of this massive cacophony of violence. But she's not allowed to kill people anymore. She is consumed with anger, and forced to watch TV shows instead. Halfway through the movie, or the comic, we will follow her as she picks up a gun again. It is going to be awesome.
He also talked about the faith of Red Mist:
This is a guy who has had his entire family killed by Hit Girl. He heads off and develops his martial arts skills. He learns how to become a better villain. That type of thing. He is going to come back and wreck unholy vengeance on our team. But in reality, he just comes back and gets stoned, and he spends a lot of money. He can't do anything, so he hires this bad ass girl from Russia, she comes into the story, and her plan is to kill Hit Girl. Red Mist becomes like Charles Manson. He goes on-line and influences a bunch of young villains to go against Kick-Ass and Hit Girl. The whole thing ends up as a big gang fight like you'd see in The Warriors. There is going to be a big gang fight in the middle of Times Square between all of these costumed heroes. And at the head will be the Red Mist and Hit Girl.

Guillermo del Toro Will Helm 'At the Mountains of Madness'

Guillermo del Toro has confirmed that an adaptation H.P. Lovecraft's 'At the Mountains of Madness' will be his next film in the directors chair since leaving 'The Hobbit'. Universal have given the go-ahead for the project which will be shot in 3D and produced by James Cameron.

The story tells the tale of William Dyer, a professor from Miskatonic University. He writes to disclose hitherto unknown and closely kept secrets in the hope that he can deter a planned and much publicized scientific expedition to Antarctica. On a previous expedition there, a party of scholars from Miskatonic University, led by Dyer, discovered fantastic and horrific ruins and a dangerous secret beyond a range of mountains taller than the Himalayas.

The group that discovered and crossed the mountains found the remains of fourteen ancient life forms, completely unknown to science and unidentifiable as either plants or animals, after discovering an underground cave while boring for ice cores. Six of the specimens are badly damaged, the others uncannily pristine. Their highly-evolved features are problematic: their stratum location puts them at a point on the geologic time scale much too early for such features to have naturally evolved yet. Because of their resemblance to creatures of myth mentioned in the Necronomicon, they are dubbed the "Elder Things".

'The Punisher' Is A Glutton For Punishment

After 3 films with 3 different faces Marvel's 'The Punisher' will return in some form on the big or small screen.
When Kevin Feige was asked about the fate of 'The Punisher' during a Q&A session at the studio's Comic-Con panel. Feige reiterated that 'The Punisher' was now back in the Marvel fold and that fans haven't seen the last of a live-action Frank Castle just yet. But whether that means on the big screen or perhaps as a TV series was left unsaid.

Later during a roundtable interview for Thor, Feige addressed the issue of Marvel character cross-overs on the big screen.
'They've done it in the comics occasionally so you never know. We'd like to do an alliance between other Marvel characters behind other doors," he said.

But added, "We'll see. It's always a pleasant surprise when it happens but there's lots of legal, contractual red tape. They will be few and far between. Awhile."

Mark Ruffalo Is The New Hulk

Mark Ruffalo will be the third face of Bruce Banner and the Hulk for Marvel's 'The Avengers,' he had this to say on taking on the part:
"It's like 'Hamlet' or 'Romeo and Juliet,' a new actor gets a crack at it every year," Ruffalo said with a chuckle. "But really it's all heady stuff. It's exciting to be here. It's great to be a part of all this."
During a round-table interview tonight at San Diego Comic-Con, Feige said of Ruffalo,
"Ruffalo is Joss Whedon's Banner. He is the Banner that is going to be in that [Bill] Bixby type, wants to help people and is somewhat ashamed of what he goes through but isn't as strong and angry in his Banner form as he is in his Hulk form, which is something we haven't really seen in the past films."

He continued, "Something like how he was portrayed in the Ultimates, a guy who just wants to be left alone and wear his glasses and do his science."

So it sounds like the future big screen Hulk will be an awful lot like his live-action small screen ancestor. "Absolutely. That's what it always goes back to," said Feige.

Guillermo Del Toro & Nick Cave Team Up For 'Pinocchio' & Wants Peter Jackson To Direct 'The Hobbit'

Guillermo Del Toro has been keeping himself very busy after departing 'The Hobbit' adding another project, a darker retelling of 'Pinocchio' to his to do with which will feature music from Nick Cave. Gris Grimly is already co-directing the movie, which will utilise stop-motion.

Guillermo also hinted his next directorial project is a horror film he wants to begin shooting in May.

On 'The Hobbit' Guillermo Del Toro did talk a little about it and expressed his interest in Peter Jackson taking over from him:
"I think at this stage I can safely tell you what I did," said del Toro when a fan popped the big "H" question. "It's a fact. We had a wonderful two years in New Zealand. We completely designed everything -- 98 percent of the movie was fully designed. We were well into 50 percent or 60 percent of the second movie in terms of design."

He explained that his Hobbit definitely had its own look, though it still paid tribute to Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings.

"And when I was in charge, the balance was enough to say it was a unique take," he continued. "But whenever it intersected strongly with the trilogy, Rivendell for example, we were being respectful and allowing it to be canon for people to recognize [these locations]. So those things were safe. But on the other hand, we were trying a lot of stuff."

And now, even though he's off the project due to its continued delays, he still has high hopes for it.

"I think that further than that, I can just say as a fan -- because I have no more authority over the movie -- but as a fan, I hope that those movies get made," he said. "I hope they get made as soon as possible. And I hope to God Peter Jackson directs them, because they're beautiful and they're needed in the world."
