Martin Scorsese's George Harrison Documentary 'Living In The Material World' Trailer

Directed by Martin Scorsese, this is the trailer for George Harrison: Living In The Material World. 'Living in the Material World' explores the legendary musician's storied career using previously unseen archival materials and movies, as well as revealing interviews with Paul McCartney, Terry Gilliam, Eric Clapton and more.

In Living in the Material World, Scorsese uses never-before-seen footage from George Harrison’s childhood, throughout his years with The Beatles, through the ups and downs of his solo career, and through the joys and pain of his private life, to trace the arc of George’s journey from his birth in 1943 to his passing in 2001. Living in the Material World features private home videos, photos and never before heard tracks to chronicle the incredible story of the extraordinary man.

Despite its epic reach, the film is deeply personal. Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono, Olivia and Dhani Harrison, among many others, talk openly about George’s many gifts and contradictions and reveal the lives they shared together. In every aspect of his professional, personal and spiritual life, until his final hours, George blazed his own path.

As his friend John Lennon once said: "George himself is no mystery. But the mystery inside George is immense. It’s watching him uncover it all little by little that’s so damn interesting."

The film will be screened for one night only in UK and Irish cinemas on Tuesday 4th October.

The documentary is then released 10 October on DVD, Blu-ray, and as a Deluxe Edition, which includes 2 DVDs, a Blu-ray, a 96-page book and a CD of never-before-released tracks. It also airs over 2 nights on HBO in the US on October 5th and 6th.

AMC Renews 'Breaking Bad' For Its Final Season

AMC have announced 'Breaking Bad,' the Emmy Award-winning and critically lauded drama series from acclaimed writer/producer/director Vince Gilligan has been renewed for a 16 episode order that will conclude the series. Production on all episodes of the final order will commence in early 2012. The roll-out of the episodes and premiere date schedule has yet to be determined by the network. The announcement was made by Charlie Collier, president of AMC.

"Breaking Bad's" fourth season premiered on Sunday, July 18th to the highest ratings ever for the series. "From the day we heard Vince Gilligan's completely original vision for 'Breaking Bad,' it has been a complete joy to be involved with this show. Watching this story evolve into the complex, compelling, and intense roller coaster ride that it has become has been an incredible creative experience for everyone at AMC. Beyond that, working with Vince, his brilliant cast and crew, and our wonderful partners at Sony has been remarkable in every way. While it is sad to even contemplate the end of this series, we are so happy to have had the chance to go on this ride, and truly look forward to presenting the rest of this amazing story," said Collier.

"It's a funny irony -- I'd hate to know the date of my own last day on earth, but I'm delighted to know what Walter White's will be (episodically speaking). This is a great gift to me and to my wonderful writers. It's knowledge which will allow us to properly build our story to a satisfying conclusion. Now, if we don't manage to pull that off, we've got no one to blame but ourselves," said Vince Gilligan. "'Breaking Bad' has been a dream job these past four years. Working with the best cast and crew in television has no doubt spoiled me for future projects. I'm lucky to get to work with them on sixteen more episodes, and I will always be grateful to both AMC and Sony Television, who from the beginning, believed in our show and supported me creatively and professionally. We have been able to take risks with 'Breaking Bad' which would not have been possible on other networks."

"We've watched 'Breaking Bad' grow over the years with viewers, as championed by the unwavering support of critics and the well deserved accolades Vince and his talented actors have received. We're looking forward to seeing Vince's masterful storytelling come fully to fruition over the course of the series' final episodes," said Zack Van Amburg, President, programming for Sony Pictures Television.

"Breaking Bad" stars Emmy Award-winner Bryan Cranston as Walter White; Emmy Award-winner Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman; Anna Gunn as Skyler White; Dean Norris as Hank Schrader; Betsy Brandt as Marie Schrader; RJ Mitte as Walter, Jr; Bob Odenkirk as Saul Goodman; Giancarlo Esposito as Gus Fring; and Jonathan Banks as Mike. “Breaking Bad” is filmed on location in Albuquerque, NM.

The series first premiered on AMC in January 2008 and follows protagonist Walter White, a milquetoast high school chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife, teenage son who has cerebral palsy and a new baby girl. White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and given a prognosis of two years left to live. With a new sense of fearlessness based on his medical prognosis, and a desire to gain financial security for his family, White chooses to enter a dangerous world of drugs and crime and ascends to power in this world. The series explores how a fatal diagnosis such as White's releases a typical man from the daily concerns and constraints of normal society and follows his transformation from mild-mannered family man to a kingpin of the drug trade.

"Breaking Bad" is produced by High Bridge Productions, Inc. and Gran Via Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television for AMC. Executive Producers are Vince Gilligan, Mark Johnson, and Michelle MacLaren; Co-Executive Producers Melissa Bernstein and Sam Catlin; Supervising Producers Peter Gould, George Mastras, and Tom Schnauz; Producers Moira Walley-Beckett, Bryan Cranston, and Diane Mercer; Produced By Stewart A. Lyons; Associate Producer Andrew Ortner, Staff Writer Gennifer Hutchison; and Director of Photography Michael Slovis.

A Slice Of Comic Con Comes To Dublin Next Weekend

If you are from Ireland, you will know this story. Film wise we are nearly always left out, we don't get the star studded attended premieres, the movie conventions chock a block with exclusive screenings and preview footage from upcoming blockbusters, and we seem to be overlooked on the old press rounds by major directors and stars.

Our good friends over at have come up with something genius for next weekend to rectify this, they have basically brought a slice of comic con to Dublin for Ireland's many neglected and over looked film lovers with the inaugural Movie Fest.

Check out the press release below on info of what is taking place and how you can get tickets:

Event will screen six premieres in two days and showcase never before seen footage from some of the hottest upcoming Hollywood movies.

The inaugural Movie Fest, modelled on the massively successful “Comic Con” annual event held in the US, will take place at Cineworld Cinemas in Dublin on August 13 / 14.  The event will showcase, for the general public, exclusive footage from upcoming Hollywood blockbusters along with previews of Hollywood films not due for release until late 2011.  Day tickets are available for purchase for the event, and each day will include two high-profile feature film previews along with presentations from all major Hollywood studios.  These presentations will feature a huge selection of extensive never-before-seen footage and trailers from some of the most highly anticipated films of 2011 and 2012.

One ticket lasts for an entire day, and covers three full movie screenings plus the preview footage.

The schedule on Saturday August 13 includes advance screenings of Colin Farrell’s latest film, Fright Night, along with The Change Up, the latest film from the writers of The Hangover, starring Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman.  Sunday’s schedule includes advance screenings of the highly anticipated sci-fi / western Cowboys and Aliens starring Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig, plus 30 Minutes or Less, the latest film from the director of Zombieland, starring Jesse Eisenberg from The Social Network.

Plus two mystery screenings are lined up to play on both days will feature an upcoming movie, neither will be revealed until the lights go down and the curtain goes up. Both are different in their own way, one of them in particular is turning into a critics favourite and is highly tipped for Oscars already.

With the event taking place over the course of two full days, movie fans will be able to immerse themselves and whet their appetites for some of the biggest films due for release over the next year, with a surprise or two in store including specially recorded greetings from some A-list filmmakers and actors.

Both days will feature extensive presentations with several hours worth of exclusive footage and trailers on view, including material from Twilight: Breaking Dawn, the new Steven Soderbergh movie Haywire which was shot in Ireland, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark from director Guillermo del Toro, Tower Heist starring Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy, an exclusive four minute preview of The Adventures of TinTin, Stephen Spielberg’s upcoming epic, 3D footage from the highly anticipated The Amazing Spider-Man, and a five minute clip from the new Total Recall.

“We really wanted to bring an event for film fans to Dublin that had an air of genuine excitement around it,” commented Vincent Donnelly, creator of Movie Fest.  “We had taken note of how huge Comic Con has become in the US, now attracting thousands of people and the biggest stars, and wanted to try to recreate some of that excitement here.  Irish audiences, among the most frequent moviegoers in the world, can sometimes be neglected when it comes to access to an all-inclusive event like this, and we wanted to make sure that while it was modelled on Comic Con, it’s a very unique event,” he continued.  “There will be plenty of surprises over the weekend, and plenty of prizes and goody bags for members of the audience, so if you’re a movie fan, this is definitely the event for you.

Movie Fest takes place at Cineworld Cinemas, Parnell Centre, Dublin on August 13 and 14, the full schedule can be seen on

Day tickets are on sale from Cineworld's box office or online at (advance booking section).

'Thor' looks likely to be helmed by another Nothern Ireland director for it's upcoming sequel. Talented television director Brian Kirk is in talks to take the reigns from fellow countryman Kenneth Branagh (who has opted not to return for the sequel after being offered to return) and make his feature film debut helming 'Thor 2.' Kirk has been directing high quality televison productions up until now, his directorial credits include Game Of Thrones, Luther, Dexter, The Tudors and Boardwalk Empire to name a few.

It is believed his work on 'Game Of Thrones' jumped him to top of Disney and Marvel's director shortlist due to his abilities of having to juggle large ensembles of actors and complex storylines in his TV projects, while also grounding the fantasy genre.  The 'Thor' sequel is expected to feature a large cast of Aasgardians and creatures in the Norse mythology-set world.
