Updated: Batman & Bane Grace The Cover Of Empire

Empire has revealed two different covers of Batman (Christian Bale) and Bane (Tom Hardy) from Christoper Nolan's 'The Dark Knight Rises.'

The movie hits cinemas on July 20, 2012 worldwide, the movie also stars Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Daniel Sunjata, Nestor Carbonell, Tom Conti, Joey King, Brett Cullen, Chris Ellis, Josh Stewart, Christopher Judge, Adam Rodriguez and Rob Brown.

Update: Talking to empire Christopher Nolan revealed that 'The Dark Knight Rises' to pick up eight years after 'The Dark Knight,' saying that the movie is "really all about finishing Batman and Bruce Wayne's story".

"We left him in a very precarious place," Nolan said of the Gotham hero. "Perhaps surprisingly for some people, our story picks up quite a bit later, eight years after The Dark Knight. So he's an older Bruce Wayne; he's not in a great state."

Discussing the threat posed by Tom Hardy's new villain Bane, the director added: "With Bane, we're looking to give Batman a challenge he hasn't had before. With our choice of villain and with our choice of story we're testing Batman both physically as well as mentally."

Costume designer Lindy Hemming revealed that Bane's mask provides him with gas to allow him to survive a painful injury picked up during the movie, while Hardy described the character as "brutal" and "a terrorist".

Hardy said: "He's a big dude who's incredibly clinical, in the fact that he has a result-based and oriented fighting style. It's not about fighting. It's about carnage. The style is heavy-handed, heavy-footed, it's nasty.

"Anything from small-joint manipulation to crushing skulls, crushing rib cages, stamping on shins and knees and necks and collarbones and snapping heads off and tearing his fists through chests, ripping out spinal columns. He is a terrorist in mentality as well as brutal action."

Nolan also revealed that the prologue for the movie coming with 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' in IMAX:

"is basically the first six, seven minutes of the film. It's an introduction to Bane, and a taste of the rest of the film."

Update 2: While doing press for his new film 'The Flowers of War,' Christian Bale spoke a little bit about the upcoming 'The Dark Knight Rises.'

-“How long will you let the pain and loss define your life? Walking around chasing bad guys is very heroic and attracts attention, but at the end it all accounts for, as a means to deal with the pain of a huge loss.”

- “We agreed that Bruce Wayne is absolutely sincere as Bruce Wayne, and as Batman utterly sincere," the Oscar-winning actor added. "But Bruce Wayne, the playboy, is a pure facade, it's a lie he has, somehow, to control one side of your soul that's not really under control. In fact, only Alfred knows who he is. It's time for Bruce Wayne to face the pain, that has always stirred his life.”

- On working with Team Nolan: “Shooting in seven different locations, chosen by Nolan was a pleasure. It's really a privilege to work well, especially with the extraordinary troupe of actors, who always manage to meet Chris' expectations.”

Christian Bale talked to the Phillippine Daily Inquirer about his co-stars saying:

"I'm terrible at auditions, so I'm very impressed when somebody really seems to acquire an ownership of a character without having worked on it or prepared for some amount of time. I saw that in Anne," he told the newspaper about Anne Hathaway. "In many ways, she has the hardest job. There are a number of people who feel that the Catwoman role has been defined previously. So, I always saw Anne's role as being the toughest job of any of us."

About Tom Hardy, who plays Bane, Bale added that he is "a phenomenal actor. I like working with him a great deal. He goes the whole hog. I know that Bane has been seen in movies before. But, in my eyes, Tom is essentially creating Bane for the first time so there's great freedom for him to be able to do so."

And about Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bale said that "Joseph is a very intriguing guy... He's somebody who truly seems to love acting. He's a good, smart guy. He did a very good job in the movie."

He also talked briefly about Christopher Nolan's Batman. "We always maintained from the beginning that if you wanted to break it down, there are three personas – Batman is sincere, the private Bruce Wayne is sincere. The public version of Bruce Wayne, the playboy, is a completely fabricated performance."

'The Evil Dead' Reboot Logo Is Revealed & Diablo Cody Talks

Above is the new logo for the remake of 'The Evil Dead' with Fede Alverez in the director chair he will also be co writing the script with Diablo Cody. Speaking with collider Cody revealed details about her involvement, which consisted of writing dialogue and character portions, saying:
Cody: I know, honestly I was so excited to do it. I wouldn’t have even gotten involved if Sam [Raimi] and Bruce Campbell hadn’t been involved as well, they’re producing it, and so of course I was like “Alright I have to do this” because I’m such a fan of the original, and the whole original series in fact.
But I was nervous to take the job because I thought “Ugh, I’m gonna get shit for this. People are not gonna like this, because all people know of me is like Juno and they think I’m gonna pollute Evil Dead with like wacky dialogue and cute stuff and folk music, and it’s like “No, look I understand what this is. I’m interested in storytelling here and making it scary and good and true to the original.” I feel like people will hopefully seeYoung Adult and go “Oh, okay that’s a horrifying movie maybe she could pull it off (laughs).”
The full interview is below:

Is This The New Bond Theme Tune For Skyfall?

According to tabloid reports, Noel Gallagher is to meet with Bond film producer Michael G. Wilson soon, regarding the possibility of Gallagher being responsible for the upcoming Skyfall's theme tune. The producers are said to be interested in an unreleased track called 'Freaky Teeth' being reworked as the theme tune for the 23rd 007 film. The track in question, Gallagher has often described as a potential great Bond theme as far back as 2008. Noel who is friends with Daniel Craig has been also been vocal in the past about wanting to write and record a theme tune for the British secret agent franchise.

In 2008 he said: "I listened back to it (Freaky Teeth) thinking, 'That’d make a fucking great Bond theme. It’s a bit of a piss-take that the greatest British agent of all time has to be soundtracked by a bunch of Americans."

Skyfall, Bond's 23rd outing, is due to hit cinema screens on October 26, 2012.

To hear the track in question, check it out in the player below:

Update: Noel Gallagher has denied reports claiming that he will be writing the theme for the next James Bond movie 'Skyfall,' saying:
"I don't know whether you've seen a story that's doing the rounds about me being offered the job of penning the tune for the new James Bond film?" Gallagher wrote.

"Apparently I'm being courted by "'007 bosses'!!!!! A meeting will be 'taking place in the next few days'!!!! With some guy called "Michael G. Wilson" (whoever he is)!!!

"A 'source' says, 'Nothing has been signed or made official'!!!! Of course it f**kin' hasn't!!!!!! Who IS this f**kin' '"source"'? Has he been on the 'sauce'? Bizarre indeed."

Its Offical 'Arrested Development' Set for Netflix Return

Its official new episodes of 'Arrested Development' will be available on Netflix in 2013. An official statement from Netflix is below:
In a landmark deal, all new episodes of the Emmy Award-winning comedy series "Arrested Development" will be coming exclusively to Netflix for its U.S. members to watch instantly, beginning in 2013.

For the first time in their histories, Twentieth Century Fox Television and Imagine Television will produce original first-run entertainment content for the world's leading internet subscription service, bringing back the acclaimed series to production on all new episodes five years after its cancellation.

One of Time Magazine's "100 Best TV Shows of All-TIME," the tale of the formerly wealthy, deeply eccentric Bluth clan aired for three seasons, 2003-2006, on Fox and was honored with the Emmy award for Outstanding Comedy Series after its first season on the air.

"Arrested Development is one of the finest American comedies in TV history and its return through Netflix is a perfect example of how we are working closely with studios and networks to provide consumers with entertainment they love," said Ted Sarandos, Netflix Chief Content Officer.

"It's also a perfect example of how broad and successful our relationship has become with Fox as we work together with their film, television, international and digital divisions on several exciting initiatives," he added.

"Netflix's bold entrance into original programming presents an exciting new opportunity for our two companies" commented Peter Levinsohn, Fox Filmed Entertainment's President of New Media & Digital Distribution. "Bringing a classic show back to production on new episodes exclusively for Netflix customers is a game changer, and illustrates the incredible potential the new digital landscape affords great content providers like Twentieth Century Fox Television and Imagine."

Commented 20th Century Fox TV Chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman, "We build brands at this studio which are so distinctive that audiences still clamor for them years after they go off the air. 'Arrested Development' is a great example of that—it has stood the test of time. This innovative deal with Netflix represents a new business model that is extremely exciting and opens the door for a wide range of new collaborations."

"We also pride ourselves on breaking the rules at this studio, and after bringing back two canceled series – 'Family Guy' and 'Futurama'—to enormous success, we are bullish on the prospects for this brilliant series. We can't wait to get back to work with Mitch, Ron and Brian on bringing the Bluths back to America's living rooms," they added.

Said Imagine Entertainment co-founders Ron Howard and Brian Grazer, "Of all the projects we've been involved with over the years, we probably get more questions about Mitch Hurtwitz's brilliant 'Arrested Development' than any other– everyone, ourselves included, seems to feel like the Bluths left the party a bit too soon. Bringing a series back from cancellation almost never happens, but then, 'Arrested' always was about as unconventional as they get, so it seems totally appropriate that this show that broke the mold is smashing it to pieces once again."

Added Howard, "After a long hiatus, I'm dying to finally get back to the narrator's microphone...'It's Arrested...Development.'"

The Emmy-winning comedy had its final broadcast on February 10, 2006 and concerned Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman) and his eccentric family comprised of his son George Michael (Michael Cera), his father George Bluth Sr. (Jeffrey Tambor), his mother Lucille (Jessica Walter), his brothers George Oscar Bluth II (Will Arnett), Buster Bluth (Tony Hale) and sister Lindsay Funke (Portia de Rossi), and Lindsay's husband Tobias (David Cross) and their daughter Maeby (Alia Shawkat).

"Arrested Development" is a production of Imagine Television and 20th Century Fox Television. Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Mitch Hurwitz are executive producers.

Steven Soderbergh Leaves 'The Man From U.N.C.L.E.'

Steven Soderbergh has walked away from directing 'The Man From U.N.C.L.E.,' a project he and writer Scott Z. Burns have been developing since early 2010, according to the playlist.

Rumours linking Matt Damon, Michael Fassbender, Johnny Depp and The Killing's Joel Kinnaman to the planned spy threequel, while George Clooney was forced out of contention with a back injury.

Warner Bros. delivered a low $60 million dollar budget proposal for what is supposed to be the first in a tentpole franchise threequel. Soderbergh felt the figure wasn’t enough for a ‘60s set period spy film that’s set on four continents, and with a March date looming, he could no longer wait for the studio to refine numbers or set cast, officially pulling out of the project.

But Sherlock Holmes deduces that the prince has been the victim of murder—a murder that is only one piece of a larger and much more portentous puzzle, designed by Professor Moriarty. BioShock Creator Has 'No Need' to Get Movie Made

It appears the Bioshock movie adatopion maybe dead, as with no news about the status of the project and now Irrational Games head Ken Levine says there's "no longer a burning desire" to get Bioshock made.
" We're not so sure if that's the case anymore, as Levine is laser focused on next year's BioShock Infinite release and he certainly has no wish to push for a Hollywood movie just for the sake of getting a movie for the franchise he built.

"We got very close to having it get made – we had a deal in place and a director. But for us there's no burning [desire] to have a movie made just to get it made," Levine stressed to us. "For us and for Take-Two, it's really got to be something that will a) give the fans something that they want, and b) for those who don't know BioShock, really introduce them to something that is consistent with the game, and is it going to be a good representation of the game."

He added, "There are differences between games and movies, no doubt, but the movie has to draw from the same DNA in terms of the world and the story beats," then reiterating: "But you know, we don't have a need to get it made."

Doctor Who Movie In The Works, Harry Potter Director David Yates Attached

David Yates who directed the last four Harry Potter films, has revealed to Variety that he is about to start work on developing a 'Doctor Who' movie with BBC Worldwide Productions.

The film will be separate to the long running tv series and take it's own fresh approach. Peter Cushing famously played a movie version of the Doctor (who was a human and not an alien as in the series) in two films in the 60's, that was a seperate canon to the whoniverse which was being broadcast at the time on television.

Yates has this to say regarding his planned adpation:

"We're looking at writers now. We're going to spend two to three years to get it right," he said. "It needs quite a radical transformation to take it into the bigger arena."

"The notion of the time-travelling Time Lord is such a strong one, because you can express story and drama in any dimension or time,"

"Russell T. Davies and then Steven Moffat have done their own transformations, which were fantastic, but we have to put that aside and start from scratch,"
