Late Python Graham Chapman’s Memoirs To Become Animated Film

A 3D animated adaption of Monty Python's Graham Chapman's memoir, 'A Liar's Autobiography: Volume VI,' is in production with most of the remaining Pythons providing voices.

Chapman, who died in 1989, will narrate the feature, using recordings of him reading his memoirs that he made in 1982. 'A Liar’s Autobiography' was published in 1980 and tells of Chapman’s progress through medical school, alcoholism and his sexuality, as well as his career move to comedy. The memoir also contains several passages of pure fiction with contributions from a number of co-writers such as Douglas Adams.

John Cleese, Michael Palin, Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam have all signed on to record various voice roles in the feature . The only Python notably absent so far from being involved is Eric Idle.

Terry Jones said: "I had no idea until recently that Graham Chapman is in fact dead -- I thought he was just being lazy. However, I am now delighted to find myself working with him again on this exciting project."

Jones’s son Bill is producing the film with Ben Timlett and Jeff Simpson, the same team who created the documentary series Monty Python Almost The Truth: The Lawyers Cut.

"We've been working closely with the Chapman estate and the Pythons to make sure we get this exactly right," said co-director Jeff Simpson. "Graham would be delighted that his work is being re-imagined in glorious 3D. He always loved wearing silly glasses."

The Hobbit: First Official Images Released Of Martin Freeman As Bilbo

Peter Jackson has released the first images from his Lord of the Rings prequels and our first look at Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins to EW, who as well as releasing some images online have some snippets from the article too to accompany the pictures.

''He's in fantastic form,'' Peter Jackson says of McKellan. ''In a way, his role in The Hobbit has more technical difficulties than Lord of the Rings did, because he has scenes with 14 smaller characters — obviously the dwarves and the hobbit are shorter... I remember saying to him [laughs], ''Look, this isn't Waiting for Godot or King Lear. This is The Hobbit. This is the real thing.''

''He fits the ears, and he's got some very nice feet,'' Jackson says of his Bilbo. ''I think he's got the biggest hobbit feet we've had so far. They're a little bit hard to walk in, but he's managed to figure out the perfect hobbit gait.''

''There's no way you can pace yourself for shoots like these,'' Jackson says. ''When we were going through the schedule for The Hobbit, I felt a terrible drop in my stomach when I saw that we'd be shooting for 254 days. We're only 12 days short of The Lord of the Rings even though we're only doing two movies. When I saw that, I had to sort of pick myself up off the floor and carry on.''

Ricky Gervais previously said about the series: "Third in our trilogy of TV sitcoms, Life's Too Short is another naturalist observational comedy, dealing with everyday problems, human foibles and social faux pas... but with a dwarf."

Doctor Who Episodes To Be Split Over 2 Years For Next Series

The BBC has commissioned 14 new episodes of Doctor Who that will star Matt Smith and run over the next 2 years. The BBC usually airs a series of 13 episodes a year, but has previously taken a break after series 4 with a number of specials throughout 2009 instead of a full series.

BBC One controller Danny Cohen has confirmed that Doctor Who will not be back for a full series next year and that some episodes will air in 2012 and the remainder being billed as specials will air in 2013, to coincide with the 50th anniversary celebrations of the series.

It comes after worrying reports in Private Eye that BBC Wales would be making four specials rather than a new series due to budget constraints, failure to meet deadlines and problems on set with producers.

In response showrunner Steven Moffat tweeted “Private Eye seems like such fun, until it’s YOUR friends they’re spreading nasty, inaccurate gossip about. How horrible.”

Mangold's previous directorial credits include 'Girl, Interrupted,' '3:10 To Yuma,' 'Copland' and last years 'Knight & Day.' His name appeared on a shortlist of directors the studio wanted after Darren Aronofsky left the picture in March.

Warner Bros. have so far declined to comment on the talks with Crowe, but it is expected that an announcement should be made very soon to confirm the role as production begins on the film next month. Other names under consideration for the part included Sean Penn and Clive Owen

A new trailer has been released for Fright Night, that finally gives us our first look at David Tennant (who looks to be quite the scene stealer) in his role as Peter Vincent. The trailer also reveals the film is Rated-R in the US, which is a positive sign that this will be a true horror flick and was not cut or trimmed to get a PG-13 rating and attract that "lucrative teen market" with a watered down version.

Teenager Charley Brewster guesses that his new neighbor Jerry Dandrige is a vampire responsible for a string of recent deaths. When no one he knows believes him, he enlists Peter Vincent, the opportunistic host of his favorite TV show, to help him take down Jerry and his guardian.
