Totoro Needs Your Help

My Neighbor Totoro is one of the most beautiful films of all time, made by master film maker Hayao Miyazaki its is truly a work of art but sadly the real life forest of Totoro is in danger. The Sayama Forest a 8750 acre forest that sits right outside of Tokyo which was the inspiration for Totoro is been threatened to be destroyed by urban development, these people must have not liked the film or have no souls. Miyazaki has been actively protesting against the development for over a decade wishing to perserve the forrest now himself and Pixar have banded together to form ”Totoro No Furusato National Fund” to help fund the on going battle to save Totoro Forest.

186 artists were asked to interpret or draw inspiration from the imagination of Miyazaki film and the results are over 200 pieces of original art, paintings, illustrations and sculptures, that you can view off the site, will be sold at an auction at Pixar studios on September 6th. All the proceeds will go to the fund to save Totoro's forest plus you help the cause too by donating on the site yourself. I think it would also be a great idea if the showed or brought out the short film sequel Mei and the Kittenbus which has only be seen at the Ghibli Museum in Japan, in aid of the cause.
