Conchords Could Quit TV Show

This is mother flippin' awful news if true, and though not strictly film news we at Flicks News love the Conchords so we are obliged to report it. If you aint heard of them look them up it is one of finest original shows to grace the telly box in ages.

Jermaine Clement and Bret McKenzie told music magazine Q that work on the second run of their HBO show is proving difficult, so the next ten episodes could well be the last.

‘The second series seems to me like it would be a good end to the show,’ said McKenzie. ‘I feel like another ten... that will be enough.’

Clement added that they were struggling to create the music for the show: ‘We’ve got a lot of half-songs. We’ve got an album’s worth of beginnings of songs.’

The guys will be doing an arena tour in UK and hopefully Ireland too in January 2009.
