Sky 1 To Air Irish Simpsons Episode Before The US, Special Screening To Take Place In Dublin

Sky 1 is to air an episode of The Simpsons before it is even screened in the US.

In The Name Of The Grandfather will air on Paddy's Day March 17 a week ahead of its airing in the US network.

In the episode, the cartoon family travels to Ireland where Homer and his father, Abe, buy a pub called O’Flanagan’s. They also visit several Irish landmarks including the Giant’s Causeway, Blarney Castle and the Guinness Brewery. Bart also discovers that Springfield’s annual “Snake Whacking Day” was invented “as an excuse to beat up the Irish”.

Nancy Cartwright, will join executive producers Al Jean and James L Brooks for a special screening of In the Name of the Grandfather at the Lighthouse Cinema on March 16th before all three hop aboard a float in Dublin’s St Patrick’s Festival parade the following day.
