'Machete' To Start Filming In June

Robert Rodriguez has set a June start date for 'Machete' which will star Danny Trejo in the lead and be filmed in Austin, Texas. Rodriguez who wrote the script will direct the film with Ethan Maniquis, his longtime assistant editor.
Machete is a Mexican ex-Federale with a gift for wielding a blade, who hides out as a day laborer, who is double-crossed by a corrupt state senator.

The film is the first non-studio movie that Rodriguez has directed since his debut motion picture 'El Mariachi'. The film is financed and by Overnight Productions and is being produced by Rodriguez, Rick Schwartz of Overnight Productions and Aaron Kaufman.
