Peter Morgan (The Queen, Frost/Nixon) will join Neal Purvis and Robert Wade on writing duties for the 23rd installment of the James Bond series. Purvis and Wade worked on the two previous 007 movies, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.
Daniel Craig is eager to return to the role but the 23rd movie is still unscheduled, but sources are suggesting a release sometime in 2011.
The news follows reports from the The Guardian that part of the film will be set in Afghanistan, as the screenwriters sought technical advice from a member of the Foreign Office's drug-busting team in the country who began acting as a consultant for the Bond franchise last summer.
The official involved, who has since left the Foreign Office and Afghanistan, is believed to have signed a confidentiality agreement with the filmmakers preventing any discussion of the project.
