Bryan Singer Is Confirmed For 'Battlestar Galactica' Film

Variety has confirmed the story on hitfix that Bryan Singer will bring 'Battlestar Galactica' to the big screen for universal. Singer was originally attracted to bring the TV series to life back in 2001 but due to the 9/11 attacks it was called off, at the time Singer had this to say about the franchise:
"The lesson I learned on `X-Men' is to have a healthy respect for the fan base of sci-fi fantasy franchises, and I'm confident that the `Galactica' brand is a sleeping giant. It was a show I watched during its initial run, from the pilot to the final episode. The essence and the brand name is quite potent in a climate where there's a great deficit of scifi programming."
The film will be its own entity with no links to the revamp TV show or its prequel which is currently been made.
