'Robocop' Remake On Hold

After a dry spell of news concerning the Robocop remake, word comes in that the project is on hold while they sort out which direction they want to take the film. The reason its stalled seems to be Darren Aronofksy and MGM can't agree on whether to make Robocop a CGI 3D film or make everything for real-world feel, an insider said:
"The project is on hold," the insider told RoboCop Archive. "The problem is that Mary Parent, chairperson of MGM, wants a 3D movie for the new RoboCop. But, as you know, Darren Aronofsky is a real artist and he's not interested in gimmicks like 3D, CGI [or] filming digital. He wants to do everything as real (organic) as possible just like The Fountain."
