Zack Snyder Is Scripting Frank Millers 'Xerxes' & 'Sucker Punch' Goes Online'

Zack Snyder has confirmed to the L.A. Times that he has started writing the film script for Frank Miller's 'Xerxes' with his 300 co-writer Kurt Johnstad. Speaking with the L.A. Times he said:
"We closed the writing deal on 'Xerxes.' We started writing about a week ago," Snyder said. "So we're doing it. It's happening... I don't have a directing deal in place but we are writing it, so call it intent."
He also spoke about the story saying it is neither a prequel or sequel to '300:'
"This movie follows Themistocles and the Battle of Artemisium, which coincidentally happens on the exact same three days as the Battle of Thermopylae [which was the basis of '300']," Snyder added. "This one starts off with a quick retelling of the why of the Persian wars. It starts off at the Battle of Marathon and then it goes back to Themistocles finding out that Persians are invading again. and off we go over to learn a little bit about why Xerxes is the way he is."

He does hope to direct the film but as of yet is not confirmed for the chair just yet. In other Zack Snyder the website for 'Sucker Punch' has gone online, also added are a few stills from the film.
Starring Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Carla Gugino, Jon Hamm, Oscar Isaac and Scott Glenn.

Set in the 1950s, Sucker Punch follows Babydoll (Browning) who is confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternative reality to hide her from the pain, and in that world, she begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out before she is deflowered by a vile man. The movie hits theaters and IMAX on March 25.
