'Monsters' director Gareth Edwards has been confirmed to helm Legendary Pictures 'Godzilla' reboot. The plan for the new 'Godzilla' film has been compared to that of Batman Begins, reinventing the character but staying true to his Japanese roots.David Callaham (Doom, The Expendables) has provided a first draft of the film which has a 2012 release date.
