Marvel Comic Con News Round Up



Marvel have used Comic Con to deliver news, images, trailers and logos for Phase three of its cinematic universe.

First up we have a new Marvel Studio's logo, celebrating its own cinematic collection.




The full cast of 'Black Panter' was revealed with Chadwick Boseman starring Black Panther who was introduced in 'Captain America: Civil War' and he’s joined by Michael B. Jordan (Creed, Fruitvale Station), who will play Erik Killmonger (a villain in the source material), Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years A Slave, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as Nakia (a former member of Wakanda’s Dora Milaje, now an agent of Killmonger, and Danai Gurira (The Walking Dead) as Okoye (a member of the Dora Milaje, the wives-in-training for the King of Wakanda).

Ryan Cooler will direct and write the film and will be released February 16, 2018.


Sadly unlike DC, Marvel decided to keep their cool trailers and features to themselves (and those who attended Hall H), but we did get this very cool 80's style title for 'Thor: Ragnarok' directed by Flicks News favourite Taika Waititi

It appears Planet Hulk storyline will in some way be merged into the events of Thor: Ragnarok!


Thor will return to theaters on November 3, 2017.


Another cool 80's inspired logo was unveiled for 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2', also revealed was who Kurt Russell will play in the film and its Ego THE LIVING PLANET! Who happens to be Star Lords father!(his costume can be seen here!)

An official plot description was also released:

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

The Guardians will rock a May 5, 2017, release date.



'Spider-Man: Homecoming' showed off some concept art featuring everyone favourites web head facing off against The Vulture! 

The film also got a synopsis:

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Marvel Studios’ “Captain: Civil War,” begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero in Spider-Man: Homecoming.'

Spider-Man will swing into cinemas on July 7, 2017.


And last but not least 'Captain Marvel' revealed a cool logo and confirmed Brie Larson will star as the Captain herself Carol Danvers!

'Captain Marvel' arrives March 8, 2019.

Sadly there was no info or cool logos for Ant-Man and The Wasp.
