Netflix's Buys Martin Scorsese's 'The Irishman'


The times they are a changing as streaming giant Netflix's has acquired worldwide rights to Martin Scorsese’s gangster movie 'The Irishman,' the film will reunite Scorsese with Robert De Niro. Al Pacino and Joe Pesci are also set to star.

'The Irishman' is a biopic of Frank “the Irishman” Sheeran, a mob hitman who claimed to have been involved in the notorious murder of union boss Jimmy Hoffa in 1975. Its based on Charles Brandt’s 2004 book 'I Heard You Paint Houses' and will be adapted by Steven Zaillian.

Its due to start shooting later this year, with a projected release date in late 2019.
