Updated: David Slade Will Reboot 'Daredevil'

20th Century Fox have officially offered David Slade, director of '30 Days of Night' and 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' the chance to helm rebooted 'Daredevil' movie.

Living in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York City, Matt Murdock is blinded by a radioactive substance that falls from an oncoming vehicle. Yet while he no longer can see, the radioactive exposure heightens his remaining senses beyond normal human ability.

His father, a boxer named Jack Murdock, supports him as he grows up, though he is later killed by gangsters after refusing to throw a fight. After donning a yellow and black, and later a dark red, costume, Matt seeks out revenge against his father's killers as the superhero Daredevil, fighting against his many enemies including Bullseye and the Kingpin. Daredevil's nickname is "the Man Without Fear".

The will not be connected to the previous Mark Steven Johnson film.

Update: David Slade had this to say about the rebooted 'Daredevil'
Forgot to look at the internet for a few weeks and its a litany of false (and not so far off) rumours. So without breaking confidentiality, yes Daredevil, we have a great outline for a very strong character driven take on Mr Matt Murdock. It will bare [sic] no relation to the previous Daredevil movie in any way. We are at early planning stages and have not yet discussed any cast.
