RIP Isao Takahata


October 29, 1935 - April 5, 2018

The world of animation and cinema has suffered a massive loss with the passing Isao Takahata co-founder of Japanese animation giant Studio Ghibli and one of its two most important auteurs he was 82.Mr. Takahata died at his home after nearly a year in declining health with heart issues, it been reported.

Along with Hayao Miyazaki, Mr. Takahata co-founded Ghibli in 1985 after a career at Toei animation. A massive influence on the animation medium he directed 12 films is his 50 year career and is best known for directing one of the greatest and most powerful animated film that have graced the cinemactic medium, 'Grave of the Fireflies.'
