Zach Braff Signs On For More 'Scrubs'

THR is reporting that Zach Braff has agreed a deal to appear in six episodes of Scrubs season nine, Braff starred as Dr. John 'J.D.' Dorian in the medical comedy for eight seasons but quit the show to focus on film directing and screen roles.

Scrubs just finished last week Stateside with Braff's character J.D. bowing out of the series and moving to another hospital in what was believed to be the shows finale episode in its current format.

Creator Bill Lawrence is said to be kicking around various ideas to evolve the show such as following one of the characters as they move to a different hospital or medical school. ABC and Lawrence also said they envision the show continuing with a mix of original cast members and some of the interns introduced this past season.

Braff's co-star Sarah Chalke (Dr Elliot Reid) has also agreed to return for six episodes, with their fellow cast members Donald Faison (Dr Christopher Turk), John C McGinley (Dr Perry Cox) and Neil Flynn (The Janitor) all returning as series regulars.

Judy Reyes (Carla Espinosa) may return as a guest star role if the ninth series gets the green light.
